In 2003 Powerteam was awarded a framework contract to refurbish and upgrade the ESB 10kV network in the Republic of Ireland.
Powerteam has completed a number of refurbishment and construction of new build 132kV tower lines in southwest England and south Wales for WPD, including Hayle phases I and II. The project scope covered:
Powerteam is currently undertaking low voltage overhead line network refurbishment for villages throughout the Scottish Hydro-Electric region. This work uses live line techniques requiring detailed planning, co-ordination with local authorities and liaison with customers to carry out the work both safely and efficiently. Our remit also covers the pre-work patrolling, design of solutions and actual refurbishment work together with rectifying any ESQCR line clearance issues.
In 2004 Powerteam was awarded a two-year framework contract by ESB to refurbish over 200km of 38kV overhead lines. This covered all aspects of patrolling, survey, design and wayleaves functions, refurbishment and construction of the 38kV lines.
Powerteam was awarded the construction of Ireland's first major 110kV trident overhead line to be built for NIE. The line runs for 20km between Castlereagh and Newtownards in Northern Ireland and employed the patented AP1 trident construction system, with a single pole replacing conventional portal frames.
In 2005 ESB awarded Powerteam the contract to upgrade and re-conductor two existing 110kV circuits in County Limerick - Limerick to Monateen and Aughinish to Monateen. Both projects significantly reinforced the network in advance of the completion of the Aughinish Alumina Power Station. The work included a mixture of changing-out existing pole sets and conductors.
