Walney Phase 1 183MW windfarm – 132kV substation (Heysham, UK)

Scope of works includes:

  • Project management and electrical design
  • Civil & building works
  • Installation of:
    • 132kV GIS substation and equipment, including a reactor & filter bank, for ‘tail fed’ connection to the offshore windfarm.
    • Control building incorporating protection, control, indication & telecommunications panels; LV a.c. and d.c auxiliary systems; tariff metering.
    • LV power and and control cables
    • Substation earthing grid.
    • Substation building services.
  • Testing & Commissioning.

Option:

Powerteam have also secured the option to construct a similar substation for Walney Phase 2 (183MW) starting Sept. 2010, for completion August 2011.
