Powerteam has an experienced team of Commissioning Engineers, fully equipped to carry out complete commissioning of a wide range of plant and equipment.
Using state of the art Omicron three phase computerised test injection equipment, Powerteam’s Commissioning Engineers can set up and test protection schemes ranging from a simple over-current scheme to the highly complex numerical devices used on transformers, generators and transmission systems.
Primary injection and magnetising curve tests of CTs (current transformers) are also handled using computerised automatic testing equipment, producing accurate and repeatable test reports. Transformer ratio, vector group and tap changer tests are also routinely carried out.
Plant testing
Plant testing capability includes circuit breaker timing tests, reduced voltage trip testing, temperature measurement and calibration. If the equipment is insulated with SF6 then Powerteam can carry out on-site SF6 analysis of gas purity, dew point and decomposition products using the latest ‘DILO’ equipment. A trailer mounted ‘DILO’ gas handling plant is used for all gas filling and evacuating operations.
Powerteam is also experienced in the set-up and commissioning of VF signalling and power line carrier link equipment, and carry a full set of measurement and injection equipment up to 650 kHz
Fibre optic work is covered using optical power meters and visible light injection equipment.
Workshop facilities
Test facilities include Powerteam’s own technical workshop where detailed relay testing can be completed, reducing site time and outage length. Powerteam’s workshop incorporates a wide range of relay types, used for internal training and development.
