ESB Corduff, Dublin
(ROI)
HV electrical installation & pre-commissioning at ESB’s new 220/110kV substation. The substation comprised 20 HV bays and is the largest 220kV substation in Ireland.

We were responsible for the entire electrical equipment fit-out, covering installation of: steelwork, circuit breakers, busbars, protection panels, multicore and fibre optic cables and all pre-commissioning. Additionally we had Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) responsibility.

Over a 14-month construction period we constructed and commissioned twenty 110kV and 220kV double busbars bays; line bays; bus coupler bays; sectionalising bays and associated transformer bays. The station has a numerical substation control system (SCS) with a distributed control and protection scheme and protection schemes on both the 110kV and 220kV busbars.

At the peak of the contract 30 Powerteam staff were engaged on the project.
